Teaching Ninjutsu, Ju Jutsu, Iaido and Self Defense in Denver, CO

A product of Chicago in the 50’s and 60’s, my interest in Martial Arts was fueled by the stories of our fathers speaking of the amazing combat styles encountered during WW II and the Korean War. These Asian Combat systems left my mid-western curiosity piqued for years to come. Finding martial arts instruction in the 1950’s and early 1960’s was difficult as my family had moved away from the city to a small suburb.

My training started in Denver Colorado in the early 80’s with a non-traditional, Martial Art. In 1991 I came under the guidance of Kancho Chadwick Minge out of Los Angeles. I have studied under him for the majority of the last 16 years. Kancho Minge was one of the original students of Ninpo Taijutsu under Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura. Kancho Minge opened the first US Dojo (Yamato Dojo) under the direction of Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura. Our system offers five levels of instructor training.

In January 2011, I was tested and awarded my Shinan Menkyo (4th Level Instructor Certification) by Kanco Minge . Because Kancho Minge has refused to compromise quality or cut corners in his traditional training style, I am proud to be one of only a handful of students to become a Certified Instructor in the Ten-Chi-Wa Ninpo Taijutsu Program. I also hold multiple Dan rankings in Genbukan Ninpo Taijutsu as well a Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei. I cannot thank all of my prior teachers and training partners enough for helping me to follow this path and achieve my goals!

In addition to the martial arts, I was an active rock climber for 20 years. I have practiced falconry, hold a private pilot’s license and rarely miss an opportunity to surf, windsurf or kiteboard.

While furthering my studies as a student of movement, I became increasingly intrigued with the connection between the Martial Arts and the Healing Arts. I studied and began practicing Shiatsu in the early 1990’s and graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998. I have been a practicing Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist since then. I have further added several cutting edge modalities to my practice.

Whether in my Dojo or in my Clinic… I will help you find the Point.
